hi I'm Morgan from Cali. I'm a college student. I'm a Democrat who's moderate and centrist. I'm a fabulous feminist and love cats and barbies and kawaii. I care about taking care of the earth. I would love to be a motherbaby nurse one day. I'm angry about misogyny, racism, poverty, homophobia, violence, war, and other injustices. If I use caps its due to mild keyboard anger 😒 🙃 😆, or due to bigger words being more see able. I hope the democratic party will do better getting our message across to better our country and get rid of the gop thats created a regressive block chain on us people. Thanks and bare with me if I might be more sarcastic or pessimistic or pragmatic. I'm trying my best to always be better and strive for human rights for all.

Many of the current DU Members have been here for 15-20 + years. I hope someday you too will be considered a long time member and constant voice for the all the issues you listed in your introduction.

Being here. I am one of those that found the site in 2004 and haven't left since. I have learned so much over the years about how government works and a lot more.
It's a great feeling to be with open minded folks.
I'm glad you found your way to this place. It's one of my favorite places to be. I can hardly go to bed before I've read an assortment of Latest Breaking News, Latest Discussions, and Greatest Threads. I may be nodding off over my computer, but have to get an overview of what's going on, DU members takes, cartoons, and cat or other videos.
I have no doubt you'll fit right in.
I came to DU basically to “find my voice” —- that is, to learn how to crystallize issues so they can be shared widely. Sometimes, I have thought that messaging was off the mark. You never know who will pick up good ideas here and amplify them.
Messaging can be a chaotic process. But basicaly ‘what works is what works” —- You can’t find out until you try.
DU is a fabulous news aggregator. You won’t need TV. I tossed that contraption a long time ago.
The only other news aggregator I use is Hacker News, but that’s almost entirely tech-focused. Started by a VC, it has lots of startup talk (and tech tips). But that was my career. Stlll fascinating and important to know and track.
And that’s it for now. I’ll repost what I think are my “best” issue pieces, and GOTV encouragement, starting right now. Not a minute to waste, especially on deliberate distractions by the party with no platform other than distraction and destruction (and tax cuts for oil and the earlthy).
