2. Making a bubble bath for my kids made me pull that album out recently.
I have no idea why.
![]() Since I know there's some Boomer music fans that hang around here, what the hell did people make of that album in 1969? Most of the tracks don't seem too far off from say, The Moody Blues. (more musically sophisticated, but a similar style and feel) But '21st Century Schizoid Man' doesn't sound like anything else I've heard before the mid 70s or so. And yes, the art for the album cover ruled. |

5. Bubble Bath
I can't speak to your question about what people thought about that record - I was a loner in school back then and bought it through the mail because of the cool album art(!) "21st Century Schizoid Man" rocked, of course, but the lyrics of "I Talk To The Wind" were perfect for disaffected youth.
Anyway, your "bubble bath" question is rather odd, because to this day I remember opening the brand new album and noting that it smelled just like bubble gum! I have no idea if this even approaches an explanation, but there it is.... |

4. That's a Photoshop job, but it's still fucking cool.
Best version I've ever heard/seen (and yes, I've seen them live) - Greg Lake Band live -
