Anywhere? Really? How can any one thing be the perfect size to fit anywhere?

2. I honestly can't tell if it is someone's idea of humor

or if they seriously have doors that open up and down!

Maybe the joke is on me? Maybe this is exactly how that cabinet is supposed to be?

Put something in one spot and presto it's in another! The doors are in case something else gets in there during teleportation like a fly mixed with a toaster. You probably don't want that getting loose.
