My ancestry is Welsh on one side of the family, and German tracing back to Denmark a few centuries back on the other side. Wouldn't be at all surprised if it included some Vikings.
But I love Led Zeppelin because they were a great rock band.
And this is a great song, whether you use it for a Viking Kittens video or what's probably the best Thor trailer ever done.

There was a new radio station locally who several years ago was on the air for a week before they had DJs or even ran commercials. Every other song was Led Zep and Pink Floyd. Good times!

(3,770 posts)that trailer! I also have Welsh ancestry. I visited Wales when I was a kid, hope to go back one day with my daughter. Is on my bucket list; hope the world will allow us to travel in a couple years when I retire!

(55,527 posts)I hope you will be able to visit Wales again, with your daughter, and that both Covid and inflation will be much less of a problem soon.

(3,723 posts)He heard them very early on, disliked the sound and said they'd 'Go over like a Lead Zeppelin.' They dropped the a and took the name.

opposite reaction from Golden Earring (they were friends with Keith and other members of the Who, and toured with them) when they first heard Zeppelin. From what I recall reading, George Kooymans, the Earring's guitarist, said they (the Earring) might as well retire as long as Led Zeppelin was around.
Of course Golden Earring was a fantastic band, too, made up of great musicians. And they didn't disband till last year, 60 years after George formed the first lineup of the band. Forty-one years after Zeppelin disbanded after John Bonham's tragically young death.

(55,527 posts)I can't pretend it's in my Top 10 since I posted that a while back in Music Appreciation -- https://democraticunderground.com/103472753#post2 -- but it would probably be in the next 5 favorite Zeppelin songs.
