Anyone need a quiet keyboard? My marriage depended on finding one.

I had an older Logitech that drove my wife crazy.

At times she was quite... irritated.

I found a super quiet solution for just $39 at Best Buy.

The Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard.

Full size, has about the same throw as a laptop keyboard.

*Bluetooth only. Requires a PC that supports Bluetooth OR you can buy a $10 Bluetooth adapter dongle.

1. Good for you, very considerate. The sound of a keyboard drives me crazy, too

4. I need one that's backlit. Also, something with positive engagement, like Cherry keys.

.

I think they make a ones with positive clicks as well as quiet versions, but something with a tactile feel to it.

I prefer to use a secondary keyboard for a laptop, because it's cheaper to replace that than to repair the laptop one. Plus, you can really bang away on a non-laptop keyboard. I have laptops that will be coming off of extended warranty, that my kids have for college. My one daughter went through two keyboards already. It's best to save the laptop keyboard when going mobile, but at home use a secondary one.

7. Aren't those a hoot? The younger generation wouldn't know what to do with them.

8. Earlier today I had a conversation with a professional writer.

We mutually agreed that voice recognition is the best way to get words onto the screen.

We further agreed that editing and corrections are best done by keyboard.
