My cornea either erodes, or calluses form on them. Very unpleasant sensation of something in my eye.
Doc basically scraped my corneal surface off, then rinsed it, then put contact-lens bandaid on it. My eye was numbed before this.
Hurts like a mother. Followup tomorrow

(34,104 posts)that sounds awful. I hate eye pain. I am sorry it hurts so much but hopefully it will be worth it.

(10,638 posts)Sadly, my first go round was to fix it, but I'm among the lucky ones where it recurrs

(23,645 posts)Can't even imagine "scraping the corneal surface off". I would think that would be mighty painful. Hope the pain subsides soon and your vision is OK.

I may ask for the small vicodin rx. It's pretty bad

(11,096 posts)I went through years of corneal abrasions before the cornea finally failed to be replaced by a cadaver cornea. It was exquisitely painful. Nothing sense has begun to get my attention.
The good news is that it feels so good when it quits hurting.
