One of my cats was hit by a car

Came home from shopping and found her slouched over coughing up blood on the sidewalk. Brought her in the house and she dragged herself downstairs by her front claws. We're at the emergency vet now and are probably going to put her down. She's at least 14 years old and was starting to get sluggish.

What a sad thing to have happened, and to lose your cat too...

Safe passage to her. I hope she's free of pain here, now at the end...

And I hope too that your wonderful memories of life with her will sustain you as you grieve your loss...

Possible broken jaw but they won't know for a bit. They think she's shocky more than anything else. It's been unseasonably warm here and she may have been laying there for several hours

I turned around while in the car to go check on her and she was hit AFTER I had
already gone back to find her.

I thought she had internal injuries the way she was acting...
but she didn't have anything wrong....except terrible dehydration and near death due to starvation.
She was in shock from getting hit...who wouldn't be.

I hope she pulls through, but please keep us updated. ***vibes***

If they know what's wrong with her the easier it will be to figure out how to treat her.

Strength and all good vibes to you and your poor kitty.

her pelvis knocked clean off her spine by a car. We were told to keep her in a cage and that it would reattach itself, which it did albeit somewhat crookedly. I hope that your kitty will also be able to heal!

...and she didn't try to kill me.

Note: The cat is a Russian Blue and prone to attempted homicide. Last year she was picked up by the Pound and put in the psych ward normally used for feral cats.

I am frustrated because we got pet insurance and the idiot sold me the wrong one for the cats. We have 4 cats, one is mainly an out door cat, the other three, including the one at the vet hospital, is outside 3 seasons out of 4. He sold me indoor cat insurance, even after I had explained all this. The down side is that I thought we were covered. The claims adjuster I spoke to is looking into it and if the recording shows this they will cover the claim. So damn frustrating! At lest she is doing Ok.
