Rant. Hell, I gotta spleen to somebody.

So, for the last 3 solid days, I've been scrubbing a notorius local hill, it's a winding road, about 1/2 mile long. It has apparently never been cleared of litter, and I said I would do it. Took 3 days, but the damned cops up there are insane. One came Saturday to tell me that I was parked 'wrong'. I wasn't. Today, another uniformed dumb ass told me I could not park on the side of the road, because 'somebody might hit my vehicle'. Well, this just in, I've been doing this for 20 years, so that news flash really made my day, then he told me I would have to move, even though I was off the road and behind the white side line. Since this was about 10 AM, and I had been hitting it since 5 AM and I had my 10 bags and a 2 tires to boot, I just gave up. I'll never go back. Screw 'em. BTW: 41 bags, a full front end of a Jeep, tires and car parts were cleaned out in my 18 hours up there. Hope they enjoyed it. They're on their own from here on out. MORONS.

maybe call or write to the head guy of the local cops and let them know to cut that shit out. If you don't get satisfaction, write to the local paper about your experiences and send a copy to the head of the local cops.

Great job on clearing the area. It's thankless, but it matters.

I am in a town where the residents garden the overgrown public areas. It's a great program and makes people happy. I am sad for your that your town is run by assholes.

Great job anyway.

MORNING for hours) and last year in Milwaukee a copper pulled up to say he couldn't be near the freeway exit ramp grass so my husband said "You can move your car over here and turn on the flashers and protect and serve or are you just going to harrass me?" SO this young cop went ahead and did what he was told. This was BLM season and we had already developed a real attitude toward the boys in blue. I assured husband I would bail him out whenever they might decide to arrest him. Got so the coppers would actually WAVE some days! Go Figure

12. Do you have a town council or some other local governing body? Talk to their chairperson.

Explain just like you did to us and ask them to speak to the local constabulary to tell them you are performing a civic duty and to leave you alone. Don't give up your vital work.

those little towns are always tough to clean, somebody always bitchin' about 'ferinners out there stealing our litter!" My District consumes 122 miles, so I'll just stay out of that small village and let their crap build up. j
