my new favorite sandwich -- fresh basil, cucumber, havarti cheese

....with cracked pepper, mayo on nutty whole wheat bread.

Mmmmmm.

With a glass of V-8, it's a fine fine day.

1. Sounds delish. I am a vegetarian and always looking

for meatless meals. I love that combination. I will try it.

2. Vegetarian here too - try the same with gorgonzola and sliced portabella on seeded rye.

And damn I like V-8. The spicy makes a great bloody mary.

5. I love V-8 too.

I am trying to drink 2 or 3 glasses every day. Lots of potassium, and it just tastes so good. I use the low-sodium variety.

6. I love love love V8, but it might as well be a solid block of salt...

.

.
... although I've found many good low-sodium products... Low-Sodium V8 royally SUCKS.

I tried to make it with a juicer a coupla times. Parsley juice is so GORGEOUS an emerald-green
that I think I always made/included too much... and it's very, very bitter.

8. You just need to add enough vodka and Tabasco to it. Then it tastes just fine.

9. V-8 is a good base for gazpacho

Fine dice a bunch of differing vegetables -- I use carrots, bell pepper, radishes, parsley, celery leaves etc. -- stir into V-8 and add a touch of Tabasco, a glug of olive oil, some black pepper. Serve with an ice cube floating in it and some sliced avocado. So aromatic, and so cooling!

3. One summer I ate so much pesto that something bad happened and I can't eat basil at all now.

It is a great sadness for me.

4. Gluten Free bread?

I have tried Glutino, Ezekiel and they are not good- Udi's white is ok but it is getting smaller by the minute - Rudi's wheat like is my favourite but if I am missing something I want to know? thanks all

I'd add a tomato, though.
