That is a wonderful version of the Long Black Veil.

I will always revere the original.

Jagger manages to get a bit of country “twang” into his version. The Chieftains are great ambassadors of goodwill through their music. That album included Knofler, Sting, Ry Cooder, and other well-known artists. Virtually anybody who’s anybody in music has wanted to play with Paddy Maloney and the lads. The six time Grammy winners have performed on the Great Wall, and with Roger Waters doing “The Wall” live in Berlin. Guests have included Roger Daltry,Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Pavarotti, Ziggy Marley, Nanci Griffith, Carlos Nunez, Linda Rondstat and Los Folkloristas, and so many more from various cultural music traditions around the world. Astronaut Cady Coleman played an Irish tune, “Fanny Power “ out of this world on the space station, with a flute and tin whistle provided by the group! For anyone who is not familiar with The Chieftains you may like to check them out. First and foremost, they are fun.
