Virus are classified and named according to the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses,
ICTV. Corona viruses are divided up in four subgroups, alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Today they have identified 7 of the viruses can infect people, I looked this up on the ICTV Site.

MERS-CoV, a beta virus that causes Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS)
SARS-CoV, a beta virus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)

I think I've told this one before...when I was still at Fort Drum I got a nice little black kitty. (This is the one whose second name was Panther Kitty because she looked just like one.
