(6,793 posts)brought me her stuffed werewolf toy (she also has a stuffed mummy). They were her Halloween toys. Happy Pet Day! Is there a Happy Pet Owners Day? Because of my dogs, I have a lot of smiles on my face.

(31,963 posts)We already had another Lab. We answered an ad from a nice lady whose dogs had a litter at her farm, about 45 min. south of here. The adorable little pups were all in the barn and the goats all came over to check out the strangers who came to visit. The pups were little white fur balls, as friendly as could be. It was neat. I recall it was in the middle of winter and very cold that day. We eventually decided our house wasnt big enough for two rather large dogs. (Although weve got approx. 2 acres fenced in out back) Maybe some day ...

(1,323 posts)the kitten in the box, is absolutely adorable! Look at that face!
We have a bobtail who is very loving. And who likes nothing better than knocking things off of tables and the counter, etc. (Like pretty much all cats...)

I had a bobtail once. Smartest cat I ever met.

(5,420 posts)She was half Rottweiler, half Australian Shepard, the first dog of our marriage. First photo was a one shot deal. The image/wording is her memorial for when we had to have her put to sleep. In that picture Chewy's at the wheel of "her" Chevy pickup.

(31,963 posts)I can just tell from those photos that Chewy was a loving and devoted friend ... and a bit of a goofball??
They are never with us long enough ....

We got a birthday card in the mail from Chewy.com yesterday for our beautiful, sweet Lab who would have been only 6. Because of her before unknown congential heart valve failure which suddenly manifested, we had to have her put down in Dec.
I called Chewy to tell them why I had to cancel orders for her & we received a sympathy card in just days from them.
But it seems all Chewy Depts weren't notified, so yesterday Missy got a birthday card in the mail from Chewy. I showed it to my hubby who immediately sat down sobbing. We loved her soooo much. Since we had adopted her, she was the LIGHT of our lives.
Poor quality pic of young Missy/Mimi Girl (only one I can link right now)...
We miss our 'Mimi Girl." 🕯

(28,117 posts)So much. It's going to take us a long, long time to get over her death. She was such a huge part of our lives & the sweetest dog you could meet. Neighbors adored her so much that we got sympathy cards & even flowers sent to us!

(5,420 posts)Mimi Girl touched a lot of lives. Your adoption made that possible. No words can say what I feel for you two. And for Mimi.

(5,420 posts)And I sincerely hope Chewy.com gets their act together!

(28,117 posts)Chewy.com normally does have it together & has been so good to us. I can overlook this, their intentions were good. Unfortunately small things bring the grief back to us.
Life moves on & we plan to get another yellow Lab puppy. We have a soft spot for them & for Collies, both Border & Standard. Herding breeds are such sensitive, intelligent dogs, as you well know, I'm sure.
