One youtube commenter wrote "Love the sound of those 12-strings. Made famous by Roger McGuinn of The Byrds and used to perfection here. I wish someone could have frozen time in '65-'66 and just left us there. ...Never get tired of great songs like this."

Yes, he was!

Only his song "All Along The Watchtower" made it into the "Top 40."

This performance is so weird, it's, well, convince me this dude didn't pound down a quart of Thunderbird before they filmed it.

Notice how they drew a circle on the floor so he wouldn’t go completely off the rails.

10. I wish that I still had some of the K-Tel albums...

... from the 60's, found among my older siblings' old records years ago.

I wasn't born until the late-60's, the youngest among all of my siblings by far.

They were supposedly full of hit rock songs, but I'd NEVER even heard them until playing the records! Well, I'd maybe recognize a couple of them that were later played on the radio.

Some of the worst rock songs that I'd ever heard! So either they were TRUE one-hit wonders that didn't persist very long at all on radio stations, or K-Tel mislabeled those horrible albums as full of hit songs.

Edit: Maybe they were albums purchased for them by our grandparents or something? "Here's some records full of that rock music that you kids enjoy! Merry Christmas!" Lol.

Edit2: Maybe this was one of their early K-Tel albums? This one was labeled "Vol. 2", and I think it was an earlier version that had an even higher percentage of songs NEVER heard by me on radio stations... starting in the early-70's, for me.

If you're country enough to have ever eaten poke salad, you'll get it. Poke weed is poisonous unless sufficiently cooked. Only hungry country folks have ever eaten it.

I picked poke salad as a child for a great aunt and ate it at her table - and acted like I was grateful.
