Being able to walk out to my pond, sit in my arbor bench and watch the fish and frogs and dragonflies
The smell of hay after Mr Pipi mows the yard
And in August, the light quality changes. The sunlight mellows out and the crickets lull me to sleep at night

I'm an extremely pale-complected cyclist. By the end of summer, I'm tri-toned, with a tan only on the exposed parts of my body (below the knees and elbows, neck and face)
If I were to stand naked in front of a mirror right now, I'd look like a vaguely Hispanic man wearing a white wet-suit.

(6,581 posts)I love being able to be outside until 10:00 at night and have enough daylight to get something done.
I get kind of sad later in the summer as we slide into autumn and it goes away.
