44 seasons, no pennants. Only team that presently exists that has never reached a World Series.

And to add insult to injury: One of two teams (along with the 1906 Cubs) to win 116 games in the regular season... Neither one went on to win the championship.

Was that 01 or 02? I know it was shortly after I moved to the east coast.

I grew up in Western Canada and remember thinking that Ken Griffey Jr. was finally going to be the piece of the puzzle. So close yet so far.

Big Unit in Arizona... The Kid in Cincinnati.. A-Rod off to Texas, and Ichiro as a 29 year old rookie.. So they went nuts, won 116 in the regular season, but couldn't make it happen in the playoffs.

They haven't been in the playoffs since, and, still are awaiting their first trip to the World Series.
