2. The Washington Red Tails

After the famous Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces, who flew P-51 Mustangs with the tails painted red. The highly decorated "Red Tails" lost the fewest number of bombers during bombing runs they escorted over Germany.

3. The Washington Powers?

“Feel the power!” (Slogan).

The truth is that Washington DC is the most powerful city on the planet, and everyone knows it. Why not celebrate it?

5. No

In 1909, the term Razorback was first uttered when coach Hugo Bezdek, proclaimed that the team played like a “wild band of razorback hogs.” The team went undefeated that year and the Razorback name stuck. In 1910 students voted to officially change the name to the Razorbacks and would shout “here come the hogs” as the team took the field.

Through the ups and downs, the good and the bad, I will always root for my Hogs.🐽👍

6. I think they should just be called the Hogs.

The Washington Hogs has a definite correspondence with facts while repugs are in charge.

7. Like the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers or the Miami Heat, name the team after the first thing

that comes to mind when one thinks of the District of Columbia: The Washington Corruption.

8. I was thinking much the same with hogs - repugs are just hogs feeding at the troughs of our $$.

I was going for the image, where you supplied the actual accusation.

9. "The Hogs" used to be the team nickname during their glory years, back when Joe Gibbs was

head coach and they won three super bowls. The "hogs" thing came from the huge offensive line players they had, credited for their dominant play and running game. The feeding at the trough imagery would also fit.

13. How about the Swamp Things?

They could cross license with DC and make a fortune. Plus, they would save a bunch on washing their uniforms - who could tell if they were dirty?
