Whenever I feel blocked in any creative endeavor

I fall back to this Bukowski poem:

1. This is cool. Thx for posting. But, I'm a details guy and...

... there's two naked guys at 0:58 - 1:04!

"So if you want to feel the heat of the roaring fire against your naked skin... don't do it."

3. I disagree with much of this.

I think it was Stephen King who said something like, "Amateurs sit around and wait for inspiration. Writers show up every day and write."

I'm sure I'm mangling the quote, but I have the sentiment right, and I agree with it.

6. I think it does require you to sit down when you don't feel like it

Maybe Bukowski didn't need that.

Mike Royko, columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times who wrote a daily column, said to young woman reporter, he had blood coming out of his hands every night, hard to write.

James Dickey (he wrote Deliverance) said a poet is someone who stands outside in the rain hoping to be struck by lightning.
