(66,310 posts)Those seem fairly common, but the truth is, I probably see an actual fever maybe six or seven times a year.
When people feel hot and sweaty, they think they have a fever. I even concede that they may feel 'feverish'. But if their temperature is not above 101 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius, it's not a fever.
I also look at oxygen saturation, the level of oxygen in your blood. It's measured by the little thing they put on your finger when they get your vital signs. If its 95% or above, you're probably okay.

I just want people to abide by standard medical practice in order to preserve their health. It's kind of why I went to school for a million years...

Hope you're not drinking Corona beer tonight!

(66,310 posts)Not drinking Corona. I don't think I've had a Corona in probably seven years. I remember the specific interval because there are pictures and witnesses.
Two very large glasses of Cabernet, two shots of Orange Smirnoff, and about 10mL of cannabis tincture...

(66,310 posts)For the Pneumovax, standard of care is immunization if you're 65 or older.
Unless you're immunocompromised in some way. HIV, asthma/COPD, etc. Then get it before age 65.
