I don't hang out as much in DU now.

We did have some epic battles but also a lot of fun.

The Lounge saw me thru some rough times, glad it was there.

I read the Lounge sometimes now but never post.

I still like to hang out in DU2 also.

I was a newbie during some of those battles... not fun.

I remember a lot of inside-jokes that only a small group understood. The rest of us were pretty much ignored. I don't miss some of the people who were always stirring thing up.

Although everyone has a different experience here--and then, some of us are just wall-flowers! LOL

The Lounge was a great place to hang out in the first few years or so after I first joined. It really helped me through some of the darkest days of the Bush mis-administration and there was a real sense of community, fun and good times. I miss those days and the people who used to come here!

Back in the day there a lot of little groups here, and it was easy to find a place to fit in. Then LFP threw a big old hissy fit, and the lounge was forever changed after that. I think there is a lot of resentment still felt by more than a few of us over that.

I know of at least one long-time Lounger who told me she was going to leave because the fun often got out of hand and she would get her feelings hurt, or someone would deliberately be a douche to her. That spelled the end for her.

The Lounge has lost a lot of fun-loving DU-ers because of flame wars.

I miss them, but I keep hoping they'll come back someday...

Alas, the Grotto, I suspect, is gone for good. VelmaD was a goddess...

that said, we did have some damn good times. i miss both the nighthawks and clintmax's good morning threads. there were many nights i posted in both.
