(25,816 posts)More full disclosure. Some years back I had a cat who loved to roll around in a bare spot of dirt next to our sidewalk. In the years we had her, I don't believe I ever saw her groom herself, which was weird. However, her coat never was dirty that I could tell, nor did she smell. She seemed as clean as any other cat. Maybe she groomed in secret, when no humans were watching.
