Years ago, I was sitting by a stream that was within walking distance of my apartment complex. I was on the pebbled area right next to the stream watching the water bubble by. Then, I turned and looked up to the sharply cut earthen bank, and there was a deer watching me from not much further than arm's length away.
I was enchanted and felt rather blessed by its appearance.
Yet another time sitting on the pebbly "beach", I turned my head and a richly colored dragonfly was hovering just past my shoulder.
That place became a sanctuary of healing and meditation for me.
