And I screamed into the void of the refrigerator...

I don't want a goddamed chicken nugget!

I really need to get to the store soon. There's not much in there.

1. It's the same way when you have teenagers

Fridge always empty.

2. Use Instacart. It's a free grocery delivery service

Each supermarket has their own employees who do the shopping and delivery to you. I highly recommend it, especially if youíre laid up or unable to be on your feet for any reason.

They pick the best vegetables and fruit! And they choose great cuts of meat. I use Albertsons but there are a dozen supermarkets in my area that I could use. There is no delivery charge over a certain amount - maybe $40 or so. You can tip them when you order. I also found out the shopper/deliverer gets a paycheck. Iíve had people of every age and race deliver, including handicapped people who can drive.

4. We've just been too busy. Growing a small business is tiresome.

Way too many meals as of late have been handed to me through the window of my van.

Then at night we unwind, I get stoned, and start looking for munchies.

8. Yeah, that can be tough

You can get frozen dishes and roasted chickens too. I can understand being too tired to cook! Iíve been there.

3. Once upon a time, long ago, I discovered in the void, a half of a yellow onion.

I sliced it thinly, and with the little bit of mayonnaise left in the jar and some bread, I made the tastiest of sandwiches.

Another time, all I had left was black coffee, saltine crackers, and strawberry jam. It was a delicious breakfast.

5. I have yelled into that void too, at a pickle

No juice left, just a pickle.

6. Services like Instacart say they are free

but here in New Hampshire I find many of their prices are higher by about 10% than an in store purchase. Not a total deal breaker but be aware. Walmart has a pick up service where you order on line then drive up and they load the groceries into your car. Nice but their meat prices are for shit...

7. Sometimes I look into my empty

Fridge and dream of it being full of food. Especially at the end of the month.
