In one episode, "Ripple" is playing in the background.
I don't think I've ever before, or since, heard a Grateful Dead song played in the background in a sit-com.

was doing something with the Grateful Dead and his orchestra. I was 18 or 19 at the time. One of the guys came up to me and asked, "You with the conductor?"
Me,"Yeah."
Him, "Oh."

NFA/GDTRFB

The original Live/Dead - Skull and Roses - the last song on an insanely great album, sealed the deal.

But, as much as I loved the crazy audio fidelity and youthful exuberance of their capabilities in '70 (thanks Alembic!)....later Dead (mid-80's) Live is pretty awesome as well. Brent Midland got the Dead, especially Garcia, and their versions of these American standards are incredible.

Lately, itís been Eyes of the World.

American Beauty reminds me of many good times spent at the river in my teenage years, and I never tire of Dickís Picks Vol 3 (just wish there was a Lady With a Fan with the Terrapin).
