I adopted my "puppy mill" dog at age 10 or 11 - and it took him awhile to adjust, too - though he'd been with the best foster mom ever for three months. She did such a wonderful job, got the housebreaking down, and he turned out to be the sweetest dog with the best temperament. I had him for eight years - his forever home.
