I remember what that was like.

Today it has been dreary and raining all afternoon so I spent it (mostly) reading a book.
(after hitting the lap pool this morning)

Worked out this morning. Finished reading my book outside on the patio in my comfy zero gravity chair. Life couldn't be better.

We're cooking dinner tonight. She's fixing baked salmon and I made cheddar veggies au gratin. We're spending the week and driving home over the weekend.

these were my thought from fb this morning, but i am smiling hard nonetheless.

i'm beginning to think that, at my age, the only good men available are fixer uppers.

there are plenty of gut rehabs cheap. maybe some have good enough bones to bother, but it is undeniable that they cost more in the end.
you cant really manage anything new, even if it suited you.
so, you are left looking for the one where the tree fell on the kitchen of an otherwise great place.

you even get a chance to make it better than before the tree fell.
you just hope there isnt a crack in the foundation that is only gonna spread. or leak.

i just finished a single family rental out of a bankrupt mess of a property, and she and her hubs did it for a while.
have other property dreams floating around in there.

looking at a quirky old joint that has a lot of old hippie charm, but some iffy situations behind the walls and some kinks in the paperwork.
but a true one of a kind, and maybe worth a little extra investment.
