To remain true if I suddenly came into a windfall. I promise, Lotto mega millions would not spoil me! An inheritance from a heretofore unknow rich relative would only allow me to spread happiness among the rest of the world. Try me...I promise wealth won't change me

Now my foaming at the mouth right-wing teabagger father declares he doesn't need to know anything from anybody; but he's equally certain everyone else is in desperate need of his sagacious knowledge.

I will not become that person.

I turned 40 recently and realized I'm out of the nice business. You know, humoring the destructive and ignorant people around you for the sake of being nice or smoothing things over in the family.

At some point the bullshit quota just goes over the top and you are done.

I've finally started working on my own shit as I've been dealing with others' for YEARS. Enough.

Plus, I can't deal with other people's destructive and unnecessary crap anymore, I can't fix their problems.

I'm older than you, and I also do not feel any further need to be "taught a lesson" or "learn from my mistakes." By the time one has been around long enough to be all gray and wrinkly, one has had one's ass kicked by the universe often enough that it no longer seems necessary.

So, universe, just stop it already.

I don't need anybody and nobody needs me. However, I appreciate true appreciation (and you know who you are) to no end.
