Queen Victoria Day. This weekend is the time planting starts. What makes it spring to you?

1. Having to cut the grass...

the leaves on my big old oak tree. I've had my air on already, just finished getting the pool ready.

2. Cutting the grass, the deluge of pollen which keeps my windows shut

By the time the pollen has cleared, it's too warm out for open windows. Also, the spring sun angle means it rises and heating up the side of the house opposite where the thermostat is. Bedroom is too warm to sleep in from sunrise till noon unless I run the A/C really cool.

Didn't have much of a spring here this year. Went from winter ( which was kinda' mild ) to a too warm spring. Last night was nice though: Lows in the low 50's, and for the first time in ages, I had my windows open.

3. Not a happy camper..already 98 degrees where I live. Huge AC bills approaching.
