DU Album of the Day: "The World is a Ghetto" War

Ah, 1972, and bands are discovering the joys of the long form. However, it requires some musical chops to really pull it off, and War had it in spades. With "The World is a Ghetto," War came fully into its own as a band after the departure of Eric Burdon, putting its own stamp on the music. Listening to this album, it was possible to get lost in another world far from most people's day-to-day experiences. One of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, this one deserves a place on anyone's list.

Side one

1.“The Cisco Kid”
2.“Where Was You At”
3.“City, Country, City”

2.“The World Is a Ghetto”
