At my age, it's difficult to buy for me and I actually don't care for gift-giving anyway - unless it's wine or a special handmade work-of-art from a friend (a special DUer makes beautiful hand-painted gourd bird houses).

This gift certificate is a cyber one so I can't just pass it on.

I've given to fire victims and a pet rescue already, but not Chico. Thanks for the suggestion and link. I like the way you think.

That has changed rainfall, among other things that contributed to the fires.

Are your towels, sheets, bath mats and shower curtain in good shape? If not, replace some or all.

They carry daily necessities such as toiletries (I ordered Epsom Salts and shampoo through them)
and detergent. Can you use anything like that?

Some of their items might make good gifts for those people you don't know very well (like a coworker at a Secret Santa gift exchange). Example: scented candles.

16. I'd buy something for the kitchen

a new frying pan or knife or something that gets me more cooking. I'm not a very good cook and i make most of my stuff up but it's fun to fail with good tools.

Oh, I know there would be a new steel, slotted spatula in there - I'm mad at my current one. it's old and cheaply made so the edges are getting rough and it seems to rust pretty quickly and it was put together with rivets so it's hard to really clean as gunk gathers in the rivet folds.

Since a spatula probably doesn't cost too much I'd have to look around for maybe a kitchen gadget I don't have.

That also has a small chopper and a whisk attachment. (https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/s/stick-blender?ta=typeahead) You'd have to kick in a few bucks for that one - when I bought it before Thanksgiving it was $35!

I gave myself one of those a few years ago and love it for soups and other small blending jobs.

Or you could get their great measuring spoon set that includes spoons for tad, dash, pinch and smidgen. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/baker-39-s-dozen-13-piece-measuring-cups-and-spoons-set/1012949855?keyword=measuring-spoon

I also like their silicon spatulas with metal handles - https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/silicone-spatulas-set-of-3/1012792662?keyword=silicone-spatula

I've had a stick blender for decades and use it often - it's in a glass soaking now.

Wow! "Spoons for tad, dash, pinch and smidgen." And all these decades I've been guessing.

I wonder how chefs agree on what exactly those amounts are?

Well, it really works and it makes my house guests more comfortable about using the bathroom.

Other than that, depends on what you need. I need a new bath mat and 3 new bath rugs as my washing machine did something bad to my existing ones.
