This is what I'd feed Dubya, Cheeto, and their accesories in jail.

One, because I'm a nice guy (I try to be).

And two, because it would help them gain a little appreciation for our French friends.

Thanks for posting! Happy Thanksgiving, et Bon Appétit.

The Spanish one is better, I think:

And I was getting excited over the ostrich stew.

Thanks again for sharing these. An embarrassment of riches.

On one hand, it's a little depressing because I bet some contractor charged the Pentagon $100 a box. But on the other, it's a surprisingly intact piece of history. Thanks for sharing this!

Above all, than you for your service Adsos Letter.

I can't imagine what it takes to go through that - least of all with a sense of humor as intact as yours is.

My brother-in-law was in Afghanistan 8 years ago. Had a number of close calls, with incoming machine gun fire, grenades, bullets whizzing just overhead.

He wasn't injured, thank God. But as you can imagine, it took him a couple of years to get over the stress and the memories.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier (Thanksgiving dinner, you know). Thanks again for finding and sharing those. Very informative.

Happy Holidays to you and yours.

I was assigned to one of two armored cavalry regiments that patrolled the old Iron Curtain that separated East Germany and Czechoslovakia, back in 1972-75.

We spent a lot of time in the field, and these are the rations we ate when we were out there.

No need to respond to this, I just wanted to clarify that I was not in Vietnam lest someone reading this think I was trying to pull some kind of stolen valor thing.

But thank you for all of your responses. 🙂 I rarely get responses outside the Photography group.

I've never spoked/chatted with anyone who had been on Iron Curtain patrol. Sounds intriguing - although there must have been a fair bit of boredom too, I imagine.

Thanks again, also, for introducing me to Steve1989 and his very informative rations overviews. Each one, a mini documentary in itself.

Happy Holidays, my good sir.

emergency supplies and smoked a pack of Lucky Strikes packed in 1938. They were as good as fresh butts.
