Thanksgiving is the earliest possible date this year, so not much lead time for advanced booking. Don't know your travel destinations, but I still see reasonable travel options on routes I sampled. Prices on Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving are higher as fewer options remain.

Even changing your travel date by one day can make a huge difference. I do a lot of travel and can often sense out where the good values are. Would be glad to help.

BTW can do round trip to Paris now for about $700 in economy, can go spring RT to Europe in business class for $2700.

The cheapest deal I can find runs up to $1400 for us.

Last year and the year prior is have got deals for $750 for all of us on weather.

Without knowing where you are, I just looked at flights from where I am near RDU. For me flights to Calgary or Edmonton are around $320 except around Thanksgiving and Christmas when they peak. Then, the cheapest flights on a couple of days are nearly $500, pretty much what you are reporting. The biggest disparity in one scenario I noticed, flying out on Sunday Nov 18 was $670, while on Monday Nov 19 was $370.

I suspect that $750 for three will be hard to find. Curious where you are traveling from and roughly when.

Looks like everyone in NYC is going skiing. Doesn't look like much variability from the NY market. I played with it a bit, but nothing like $250. You can get close to that out of Philly, but not from a NYC airport.

BTW the simplest way to look at flights these days is with Google. To get started, just type in the two cities or their airline codes. For example, NYC YYC. Then enter your preferred dates. Once you have a bunch of suggested flights, use the Graph option to see the prices for different days. From the graph display you can tweak how many days you are gone, and you can scroll across dates.

Good luck!

If you don't do it early, it's always Hella expensive. More so this year. Same with Xmas.

Frankly, fares can vary a lot just from one week to the next, without holidays. The best you can hope for is if you book over a month in advance.

One lives on the east coast and one in the west but not the west coast (where we live.) Cost for a round trip ticket was $750 each, despite the varied distances.

We saw one kid last week when we were on the east coast. The other kid flies home this week- when his cost is $250 round trip.
