I enjoy being a grandfather a ramble

In charge today of our seventh month old grandson tell you what he is so narcissistic. It’s all about him diaper needs changed I need a bottle he loves being held , well you know what young mister you got it. Our other grandson he is four months old went home I love em both I been a few things over the years a airborne infantry trooper as kid then a leg infantry troop after I broke my ankle twice on two different jumps.

I have been a husband a father thirty two years a teamster a alcoholic probably since age 12, still a husband and a lush but eating naltrexone for booze still a teamster and I love life. And I have a bad crush on Ann Wilson from Heart my wife and I saw her last year she has a beautiful voice, let me clarify the crush is on the 2018 Ann Wilson not the 1977 Ann Wilson I have morals I’m 52 why I could be the 1977 Ann Wilson father that woman has awesome voice.

My wife is ok with my crush she understands that I’m 52 but emotionally probably 17 she says to me but I fire back in humor and tell her hey I earn big cash being a uneducated steering wheel holder / union truck driver.

So my wife went into office today wearing heart monitor a fib leaking heart valve our one daughter went to visit her friend. And I’m in charge of her baby boy as her husband is working I go back work Wednesday night. So I asked our grandson baby boy you like Etta James I do I love her voice let’s just chill on couch lay on my chest let’s enjoy the music.

You are such a good grampa and family man. I always enjoy your "rambles".

Enjoy him now when he is a baby. If you think that your kids grew up fast, with grands it's like lightning. On day you're changing their diapers and the next they are teenagers.

That's how it has felt with my two granddaughters. I feel like I will only be relevant to them for another couple of years and then, universe willing, maybe they will circle back when they have kids of their own.

that's a big fat nope. As they get older and busier you do expect some decline. But your importance in their lives doesn't.

Over the summer I asked our youngest if he wanted to go to FL with us. He declined. So I booked a room for me and my spouse. Two days before we left he overheard me talking to the grandparents verifying that they booked their rooms and that we couldn't wait to see them. Got off the phone. My kid says "You didn't tell me Gramma and Grampa would be there! I'm going with you." When we got back, his brother overheard us talking and was upset we didn't ask him to come with us to see Gramma and Grampa. Mind you he is in his 20's works 40-60 hours a week and doesn't live with us.

Not only will they want to see you, they will be angry with their parents for not bringing them when they go to see you.
