Further proof...and I KNOW YOU DON'T NEED IT...of why Rolling Stone SUCKS.

Cover of the new issue.

"Remembering Adam Yauch 1964-2012" at the top. A photo of Peter fucking Dinklage on the cover, where the photo of Adam should have been.

It was the Beastie Boys that first got me listening to Rap & Hip-Hop.

So they were white kids who rapped. BFD. Blondie did it before them. And why no love for Vanilla Ice?

On the other hand, de gustibus non est disputandum.

That having been said, Dinklage IS awesome. And Rolling Stone hasn't been relevant in nearly 40 years, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

6. Covers are negotiated. You can't toss a cover that quickly and easily.

and while I do value the Beastie Boys I also value Peter Dinklage who has EARNED his own fame.

7. As much as I love the Beastie Boys, I think RS only changes the cover for something truly top tier

Whitney Houston was pretty huge and so was Michael Jackson - those were the last 2 people who got the cover of RS after their death.

Whitney has sold like 170million albums and Michael Jackson has sold close to 300millions so the 40million albums doesn't even come close (what the Beastie Boys have sold).

And although the Beastie Boys were a huge influence with spreading hip-hop and rap into new markets they hardly were groundbreaking like Nirvana, who started a musical movement.

Personally, I don't watch Game of Thrones but Peter Dinkaledge has done alot to show that a person of limited height can not only do well in Hollywood but even be a leading man.

8. Timing probably had something to do with it, too

With the issue coming out just a few days after MCA's death, it's likely RS didn't have time to put together a full cover story.

Peter's time is now.

I never heard of Adam until his death, and I don't hear him complaining. He's lucky he didn't get bumped by Sendak.
