The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI'm taking a break from the DU. I will lurk and read all your posts to get up to speed
on what is going on in the US. But i don't want to be accused of being a 400 pound basement dwelling foreigner affecting elections in the US by tweeting from my bed in canada. My diet is working. I have 100 pounds to go. There is an election coming in Canada next year. Doug Ford's government in Ontario just called journalists who quoted one of his minister's directly yesterday 'Fake News'. So I am sure I can find something to keep me busy. Thanks so much for all your wisdom and for helping me get wise. I learnt a lot.

(17,301 posts)How will we keep the doctor away? Even if health care is better in Canada, we still need our resident McIntosh to drop in on us regularly.
Hope you reconsider. Take care!

(25,232 posts)But you've been super hard at work on this board ever since I joined in 2012.
You deserve a break! Great to hear that your diet is working.
Enjoy what's left of Canadian summer!!
I'm glad that my long, hot Texas summer is going fast.
I've been super involved in party and campaign work.
November will be here before I know it!

(24,259 posts)I live on the border of Canada and the US and, as an adoptee, have newly discovered and started to meet my paternal bio family up there so I'm trying to keep up on current news up there and learn more about how politics work there vs here so I don't sound like a completely ignorant American when visiting. (Which is also why I don't comment in that group much yet.)
I get needing a break, I've done that myself a few times, but I truly hope you'll return soon to posting and keeping us better informed.

(24,259 posts)Heck not as much as I want to be about anything but I'm a bit of a knowledge junkie so it's never enough.
I hate goodbyes so I'll just say, until we meet again, take care and hope you continue to do well on your diet. I'm on one as well, intermittent fasting and LCHF, and know it can be a challenge.
