Washington's NHL team is performing down to standard as usual, well on their way to losing a 7-game series that, just a few days ago, they were leading 2-0.

Mike Babcock is a hockey genius and the Leafs have arguably progressed ahead of the five-year plan to produce a Stanley Cup winner. But this situation with Matthews being unhappy and Babcock flying to Matthews' home to try to mend things is so odd. It's like the highly respected coach is coddling his young star and it seems out of character.

No sure what to make of it.

Years of collapsing in the playoffs.

But this season I'm on board the Vegas express. The thought of an expansion team winning the Stanley Cup is just such a great story. Hope it happens.
