The Crests were the first interracially mixed Doo Wop group, consisting of three African American members (one female), one Puerto Rican, and one Italian-American.

Step by Step is another great song by The Crests

Cruising with Ruben and the Jets. Zappa's take is so perfect and they could sing. I love doo wop but that one is just too good.

The Cadillacs- Zoom Boom Zing (and all of 'em best group besides the Teenagers)

The Valentines- Woo Woo Train

16. Frankie Lyman's life was dramatized in the 1998 movie "Why Do Fools Fall in Love"

He died of a heroin overdose when he was only 25.

Love Potion No. 9 was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoler in 1959 & recorded by The Clovers that same year.

The Searchers recorded it a few years later in 1963.

Both The Clovers version and The Searchers version are up on You Tube.
