Today is the 46 year anniversary of the Allman Bros' Eat A Peach! Will you kids get OFF of my lawn?

Love the album, but I sort of hate the realization that I first loved it over FOUR AND A HALF DECADES AGO.

1. Reminds me of my misspent youth.

No computers, no cds, no cell phones, no twitter, no facebook, four channel tv. Just "Blue Sky" blowing over awesome mega speakers in analog sound, accompanied by industrial strength weed and feeling like the world was a glorious place!

3. C L A S S I C

It hurts to hear this, all these years of living and loving and believing in right, wrong and justice.

All gone up in smoke

Fucking traitor

6. I found this album in my parents record collection c. 1975...

and immediately fell in love w/ southern rock. There followed the bitter-sweet realization that Duane was dead even before I knew of him. The side w/ Mountain Jam is most def in my desert island top 10.

7. By coincidence, this evening I've been rehearsing "Les Brers"...

...in preparation for an upcoming performance with my casual bandmates.

So, I guess the album lives on for people.

10. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed

has always been my favorite ABB song, but Mountain Jam is a great one from this album.

11. Ain't Wastin Time No More is one of my favorites.

They had a rough go of it but made some beautiful music.

14. Wonderful album and exceptional band. Live at the Fillmore,

In Memory of Eliz. Reed, all classics. In high school we drove to see them, spur of the moment, including Duane on Oct. 16, 1971 at Marietta, Ohio College. What a memorable occasion. Even more since his last performance was the next day in Owings Mill, Md.
