6. When the furnace went out last week

and the guy who came out the 4th time told me that the parts and labor would be about $500 (on top of the $158 for cleaning on the first day, the $280 part on the third day that didn't last 24 hours), I had to leave the room and walk around the house to calm down so I didn't scream at him. I wound up calmly telling him that the furnace worked perfectly ok for 30 years until I had them come clean it. He somehow found an adjustment he could make that has kept the furnace working for the past five days.
