When I remember, I pause my program for a while so I can fast forward through the ads. Of course if I go to another channel I lose this option but it works whenever I really want to watch a show without interruption.

Life is so much more peaceful now. No one on the tv insulting you and screaming that you're not good enough as you are.

Maybe it explains why I'm not wealth. Most commercials, if shown to me, I would have said as company owner, "that's going to make us look stupid. People will want to go out of their way not to buy our product."

But I feel the same way about telemarketing. Yet some entities keep spending their capital on that.

An "hour" show was 50 minutes. Current "hour" shows run 43 minutes. What that means is 7 more minutes of commercials (up to 14 commercials) in 2012 than in 1966.

watch / read the news on line. TV is a major forum for big Pharma. They will invent a new disease a day, then make a new drug to match it. $$$. Ever wonder why you feel sick after watching TV?. You see these in commercials about overactive bladder, osteopenia, excessive daytime sleepiness etc. They are problems but do they really need drugs.

Dr. Adriane Fugh-Berman said that pharmaceutical companies actually invented specific diseases or conditions and it’s not only diseases that have been invented, but categories have been changed.

11. Commercials are on a time schedule

And networks use the same schedule, that is why the ads are on most channels at the same time and you can''t just shift between programs. I get mad about paying for cable and then they have infomercials on in the early morning. Who likes infomercials? Who watches infomercials? Anyone?

But someone must or else they wouldn't still be on.

And if I hear one more commercial about any prescription medication, I am gonna throw something at this tv!
