Each and every time I have heard something like this when they raise the minimum wage.
You know what, it's simply not true. There is no surplus in labor, management just takes a small hit in profits for a while, that's all. The same supply and demand exist as did before.
Raising the minimum wage according to the CPI is what is needed.
Republicans have always been against minimum wage, they want to abolish it, stating that they should let the market decide what the minimum wage will be. Well, I'll tell what it would be if they had their way, it would be NOTHING! They would pay you nothing if they could, just so that they could have more. WHEN DOES THE GREED STOP?
When will there be a time again, where someone on minimum wage can at least pay for a lousy place to live, and food? There doesn't have to be a minimum wage, there needs to be a minimum LIVING wage, just as there should be a maximum wage. Because the more that some people make, the more that they want to take from those less fortunate than themselves, and that's what it's REALLY about.
