Pete Seeger - God's Counting On Me, God's Counting On You (feat. Lorre Wyatt & friends)

Latest single from the living legend (who turns 94 in May) - Pete wrote this during the BP spill and has been playing it live for a few years, but there's finally a studio version out on itunes and amazon now.

It's a catchy song and a great anthem - enjoy:

and, while we're at it, here he is with the Weavers from 63 years ago:

Well, maybe not forever. I am so thankful I've had the chance to spend time on this planet with him.

He's a 'World Treasure' indeed.

Thanks for the post, AH. The live version, on the Hudson, with all those people, was beautiful.

The album version of this song from "A More Perfect Union" has Bruce Springsteen joining in on lead vocals. Fifteen other new songs by Pete and Lorre Wyatt - each song inspiring in its own way.

If the true spirit of Pete has ever been captured in words, I think it has to have been by Bruce at Pete's 90th Birthday concert:

Without a doubt, my favorite song collaboration between Pete and Bruce is the one Bruce was about to sing at Pete's birthday, The Ghost of Tom Joad, from the Sowing the Seeds album. This video only has stills with the music from the album.
