When we (as a society) start taking wage-theft as seriously as retail theft, Ill start caring.

they are publicly using as an excuse.
Kinda like Starbucks closing the unionized stores.

Grocery stores especially only have a 2 percent margin. Start seeing theft and it goes to bankruptcy or worse. Im not sure what the margins are for Walgreens, Walmart or target. But Id imagine its single digit.
