(2,979 posts)This family was featured on one of those "home-giveaway" shows, and at the end of the segment, when the producers and the host were with the family, this kid started playing the piano and singing (really well too), and everyone was blown away, and one the producers started crying.
To say that it was touching is a huge understatement.

(57,936 posts)He isn't just any old musician. He plays with sensitivity.
No wonder. Patrick owes everything to his parents' love and patience. And Patrick reflects that love and patience in his music. Seems to me, if I may be so bold as to say it, that Patrick's music is his way of saying "Thank you" to his parents.
They are all so lucky to have this experience together.
Strange isn't it, how, what one will resent as misfortune becomes another's greatest fortune.

(9,298 posts)is that Dad works Mon - Thurs from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., then sleeps for 5 hours, gets up and apparently gets Patrick to school and handles whatever else the day brings (band practice and ????). I don't think I could function on that little sleep without a special needs child.

He's in iTunes, but only in podcasts. I'd love to buy an album or some pieces he's played or composed.
