1. I cannot imagine the difficult task of doing this process of Identification- but I am amazed at the

…response of most of these Russian families.

The Ukrainians are following the proper Geneva Convention protocols and while I am sure it also helps counter the Russian propaganda, it’s the correct reasons for doing it.

But that 80% of the responses from Russian families of the dead soldiers are hateful and death threats, makes me shudder thinking how powerful the propaganda of Putin has been in making such a large portion of Russians brainwashed hateful idiots.

I think about our military policies and oaths to leave no soldier behind and even decades after wars to get the remains of soldiers. The Russian government doesn’t give a shit about their soldiers and then you would even think the families might care to get their loved one back.

It doesn’t bode well for the future of Russia.

2. K and R Thanks for Posting. An Amazing Video Shows What Good People Do in War.

I might add that these identifications don't have to be done, Ukraine is doing this because it
is the right thing to do. Ukraine is identifying Russian soldiers that died fighting the Ukraine
government. That is Russian soldiers who came to Ukraine to kill people & soldiers that were
in Ukraine.

3. There used to be a show on PBS called "The History Detectives."

Ordinary people would ask them questions, often about an artefact, occasionally about a known event which had never been fully explained, and they would investigate. They would get three investigations into each 1-hour show, so roughly 20 minutes - obviusly not to do it, but to tell about it.

One of these investigations concerned a Vietnamese soldier's diary an American had picked up.I can't remember whether the American soldier was still living at the time, but certainly his family had the compassion to be troubled by having it, and wanted to return it. It was Wes Cowan who did that one, and he was able to identify the Vietnamese soldier, whose living relatives (I think including his mother) were still alive in Vietnam. Leon Panetta personally took the diary back to his realtives, who were intensely grateful to have it returned. It was unforgettable.

Getting closure, especially on the death of a beloved person, is a tremendous gift. Good people want to make it happen, Good peole appreciate it
