Most families gather on Thanksgiving hoping that politics is not on the menu. And this year is no different. James Davison Hunter, an author and executive director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia, joins Amna Nawaz to discuss polarization in the U.S. and how to lower the temperature. Aired on 11/25/2021.

(26,213 posts)3. Ya, there are few if any actual facts from the far right.
The claim for example that many Republicans make every year that X Democrat will come to get their guns for example.
I mean the only way that truly can happen is if we amend the Constitution in such a way that SCOTUS could not interfer and the odds of that happening are essentially nil currently and probably for a few decades at the very least if ever.
So no, the far right does not deal in facts but rather in lies used to incite fear and or anger to drive their base to the polls.

Many Americans are susceptible to strident hate propaganda, and a large swath of the population evidently wants nothing more than to sit on their arses gorging on it.
