From global warming to embryology to biology to geology to physics and even chemistry, the GOP is on such a lurch to the extreme right that they are actively denying EVERYTHING!

It would be funnier if it weren't so dangerous...the next thing you know, their "experts" are going to be promoting strategies for "winnable" nuclear war again...

if masses of sane, rational people do not rise up in righteous anger at the greedy corporatist who are destroying our planet, us and themselves too, we're all dead. Most corporatist are sociopathic/psychopathic animals like mittytwit, so we rational, sane people must save our planet for ourselves. Most comedy is born of sadness and tragedy. This is one of those cases.

I understand your point, but its already started - the release of methane from the tundra and arctic seas. That was the tipping point. We had ONE chance to avoid a massive shift in the climate that will reshape life on Earth for the next several million years - control the CO2 emissions to stay beneath the methane release threshold or lose the initiative. The addition of methane to the equation tips the balance so far towards warming that it makes a certainty of dire, dire consequences.

I have friends that are field biologists working on theses and degrees and they ALL report to each other that they are finding alarmingly unexpected results. There is 100% consensus that the climate changes we already see - seasonal changes for migrations and fauna, droughts that are gripping HUGE areas of the US, crop patterns and failures and yields...none of this is being reported because we live in the land of Honey Boo-Boo and endless campaigns.

Its game over already.

The only strategies we should be discussing for the future are mitigation and survival options. Humanity itself is going to be pruned to less than 2 billion people if we are lucky....if we are not lucky, we will go extinct by 2200. The dirty hippies of the 60's and 70's were right, then instead of keeping up the fight, most of them became corporatists in their own right and simply decided that "making their nut" was more important to history and to life and to the species than actually changing the world while it was still possible.

It is no longer possible to make enough changes fast enough to stave off the worst outcomes. Billions of global poor are already sentenced to death, they just don't know it yet. Ever wonder exactly WHY rich nations have not taken this problem seriously? Because they are cowards and liars and they know that while billions face death, those billions will either starve or kill each other long before they can threaten the rich nations left on the globe...
