Righteous rant from AOC on white supremacy and the insurrection.

I don't post much on this forum, and I did do a search for this to make sure I did not duplicate.

This is an unvarnished presentation from AOC after the traumatic events of January 6, and I found it quite worth listening to.

So you know, it IS an hour long, so budget the time. Note that Rachel Maddow played an excerpt from it last night.

I look at her, I listen to her, and I think of the vermin, the subhuman vermin who oppose her and, evidently, came close enough to murdering her that she’s preparing herself for PTSD-type counseling. And I think the vermin can’t win. The vermin will lose and be defeated because, finally, after many, many long years, they’ve taken to a public forum and showed the world what they truly are. It’s not just the fact that they are white supremacists, but that they are murderous white supremacists. Worse, so many of these misbegotten turkeys who stormed the palace and smeared feces on its walls are, themselves, members of the law enforcement establishment. To think that they had murder on their minds and that they were supported by members of Congress is inexpressibly infuriating.

I hope I can live long enough to see her inaugurated as president of a country whose people have ostracized -- at least ostracized -- the racist pigs both inside of the Republican Party and outside. I hope when she is president the nation will not be divided, virtually 50-50 between the sane and rational people and the grunting morlocks who live only to inflict pain and fear. We’ll always have the scum with us, but I pray it will be reduced to an insignificant minority that will be scorned and held in contempt by 90% or more of us. (Yeah, I know, we got a lot of work to do and there’s a painful question of whether there’s time enough to get it done before the whole basis of our democracy crumbles. With leaders like AOC, I know we can do it, and do it with education and compassion, not bullets and the smeared feces of the GOP.)

The cops who flew into town and joined the fecal mob will be dealt with. It’s horrible to even think of them -- and the goddam military people -- a retired Lt. Colonel with zip-cuffs! -- but they will face justice and be jailed for their crimes.

But I saw interviews with the police who were attacked by the mob and they are honorable, professional people, as are most LEOs.

They were surprised by the violence and murderous intent of the rioters -- one cop, dragged from the building and beaten by the fecal savages noted that the mob was going for his gun with several shouting “Shoot him! Shoot him with his own gun!”, another almost crushed to death by the mob (you’ve seen him on TV screaming in pain while the mob pressed forward, delighted with his agony), and we all know what these bastards did to Officer Sicknick.

How in hell the LEOs who had joined the riot to “protest” can ever look themselves in the mirror knowing they had contributed to the murder of a brother police officer, I’ll never understand. Had they any sense of honor or courage or right-versus-wrong or evil, they would have turned themselves in and tearfully turned over badge and gun to their superior.

So them I hate with an intensity bordering on danger to my own health. Seriously.

But the police trying to defend the Capitol Building have earned my respect and admiration. I know there’s an ongoing investigation to determine whether any of the Cap Police actually aided and abetted the scum. I’m fairly sure what they will find out is that any cop who looked like they were befriending the mob were really doing what they could to mollify them and keep them from pursuing their murderous goals -- at least long enough for the legislators to be taken to safety.

Still, there may have been one or two who actively supported and helped the insurrection and, to them, in memory of Officer Sicknick, I hope sincerely that they rot in hell.

for balance. We can't hate them all in this terrible, terrible incident of total insurrection...I think of those who protected innocent people and government officials at great risk to their own lives.

gave attention to some of the best traits of ours police while also reminding us of the worst.

Thus will it ever be, I guess. There are not just a few bad apples, but bushels of rotten offset by bushels of good. I’m glad, for the sake of the nation, that most (and maybe all) of the Cap Police are in the latter group. And I hope those brave defenders of the nation are rewarded for their courage and dogged attention to duty.

(For the record, I never thought I would speak so glowingly of the police. But praise to the praiseworthy.)

Speaking as a father and grandfather, I am absolutely certain that if her dad was looking down at her from heaven he would be very, very proud of this young woman.

I know we can expect great things from her in the future, and she is delivering now.

May she continue to advance the cause of the people out of compassion and love.

(I recall the video the Right Wing put out that she made in college -- the one where she was dancing a la The Breakfast Club, the one the Right Wing, because it lacks any human feelings, thought would hurt her, the one that delighted everyone who saw it because she’s very attractive and very graceful and also very capable of a certain impish smile. I remember thinking that the dance was a dance of joy and happiness, no wonder the GOP thought it was scandalous!)
