Relationships that, in some cases (notably Prescott Bush), lasted well into World War II.

Hitler didn't rise to power by just ranting and raving, lest we forget.

One of the best books I ever read about the manipulation of U.S. and world politics and economies was Family of Secrets by Russ Baker about the Bush family dynasty and how far their tentacles reached going back a century.

Had the media made more of this in 2000, we might not have had Dubya's 8-year misrule (can you imagine if Gore's grandfather had had such ties!?).

Bush's tenure was lot like Trump's - just more polite.

W may not be that smart but his ancestors were and knew how to do their evil work behind the scenes. One of the most interesting parts of the book was how well they were able to manipulate the media.
