1. Chappelle is surely strong enough to give up cigarettes.

8. Oh no
The addiction is strong with this one, like me. He’s always smoking in his shows. It’s a heavy monkey baby. Believe me.

10. Don't gotta tell me, I vape constantly lol ...
Started smoking at 14. I did go about 12 years during college and after without getting fully back into it but then in 2000 I started again ... but I've been a vaper for like 6 years now. Not that I NEVER smoke analogs but not much.
I just never saw smoke actually coming out of his mouth, and his drags looked really quick so I thought it might be an act. |

7. He lives in Yellow Springs OH, which has been known...
... as a liberal "hippie" island in a sea of right-wingers. Antioch College was a big part of it, and several professors from nearby Wright State live there too.
His commentary about the nearby farmers doesn't surprise me at all. Sadly, Yellow Springs is more costly than I prefer or I'd move there. It's not very far from me. Edit: There's some beautiful nature preserves in that area too, with minerals in the water that give that village its name. ![]() Edit2: And it was the first place in all of Ohio that required masks months ago. (I think I'm trying to convince myself to finally move there. Lol.) |

9. Check out Dave on Dave Letterman's show on Netflix
They do the interview there, and they kinda tour the town, and Dave C rants and raves about what a great place it is.

11. The people are better educated and nicer there.
That's been my experience during my past visits.
Either that, or they can tell that I'm "one of them" right away? Maybe it would be different if I looked and acted like a redneck, riding into town on a loud Harley? ![]() Edit: I'll watch that video eventually! Thanks for recommending it! Here's a little article about it: https://www.dayton.com/what-to-do/letterman-chappelle-netflix-special-is-a-love-letter-to-yellow-springs/2M6JRCXBBNFRXK3ABH2NQPQ4WY/ |

14. I just watched it! Thanks for recommending it!
Dave Chappelle was wonderful with his perspectives!
And I can understand why he's comfortable living there. The community is very accepting and kind, at least toward others who treat them similarly. |
