That is EXACTLY how G W Bush slinked into the Whitehouse. The USSC ruled that the counting need not continue after a point in time which had already passed. Florida should have counted quicker. Instead they halted the counting every time a court ruling told them to pause because the rules were changing on which ballots were acceptable to reexamine. That caused so much delay that ultimately all the ballots were not counted because of two reasons.
reason # 1: The courts said you had a deadline for counting and that deadline was some days prior. reason # 2: The continued counting was revealing an unacceptable (to Republicans) fact, Al Gore had more votes in Florida if you counted all of them. It worked so well in 2000. What has changed except now that same strategy is being employed all over instead of just Florida? And with the mail-in ballots deadline up in the air and Trumps diarrhea of the mouth to sow further confusion, it may work even easier. |
